Explore your imagination with the art of collage.
Class description: starting with a sheet of 11x14 paper we will learn to compose a collage. Class members are encouraged to bring magazines, books, and catalogs, that have colorful images to cut out and play with, and any interesting images such as postcards, personal and travel photos, cards from art gallery shows for example.
Vintage Life magazines, donated to the Art Center, will be available to source for interesting images.
The process is spontaneous, which makes it fun. Paper, glue and some scissors are provided.
* alternatively bring cut out images that you would like to use for a first collage. If you have magazines to share please bring them!
Helpful tools to bring if you have: double stick tape and a variety of scissors.
Collage Definition: βthe technique and the resulting work of art in which pieces of paper, photographs, fabric and other ephemera are arranged and stuck down onto a supporting surface.β
