INTRO to Sewing for beginners - 2 Day Mini Class

Experience the excitement of learning professional sewing techniques.
In this workshop, we will cover basic skills that can be applied to future sewing projects or existing ones.
(A more advanced class will be offered this spring. See below)
In this class you will learn how to:
Thread a sewing machine, understand it’s basic functions and capabilities, and become comfortable sewing with one.
Lay out and cut pattern pieces correctly.
Practice stitching seams and hems. Learn about the different types of seams and hem finishes.
Plus learn about interfacing: the different types and where to apply.
Practice hand sewing techniques.
We will provide supplies to be shared but if you have any of the following items or would like to purchase some, see the list below:

Your sewing machine. If you don’t have one, we have three at the center to choose from to use for this class
Fabric scissors
Hand sewing needles
See through plastic ruler, 18”X 2”
Measuring tape
Tailors chalk
Seam ripper
Tracing wheel
Tracing paper
Pins - I prefer glass head for sewing and dorcas for fittings
