ART OF COLLAGE - WORKSHOP

Explore your imagination with the art of collage.

Class description: starting with a sheet of 11x14 paper board, we will learn to compose a collage. Class members are encouraged to bring magazines, books, catalogs, ideally sourced from second hand sources, that have colorful images to cut out and play with, and any found images such as postcards or cards from art gallery shows*.

The process is spontaneous, which makes it fun. Personal photos can also be incorporated into a collage. Paper, glue and some scissors are provided.

* alternatively bring five cut out images that you would like to use for a first collage and bring magazines to share.

Helpful tools to bring if you have: double stick tape and a variety of scissors.

Collage Definition: ‘the technique and the resulting work of art in which pieces of paper, photographs, fabric and other ephemera are arranged and stuck down onto a supporting surface.’
