Poetry Walk

 SELF GUIDED TOUR - COMMUNITY PROJECT

Saturday April 4th through to Sunday April 26th

Calistoga Art Center invites you to walk Calistoga and find inspiration along the way.  Beginning Saturday April 4th and through to April 26th, poems and such abound by the dozens along public spaces in Calistoga.

We want YOUR poetry submissions!

The CAC is creating the 6th Annual Poetry Walk, a self guided walking tour of Poetry in Calistoga. We ask you to send in poems that resonate with you and if you want, tell us why. Read the requirements below.

  • Poems can be written by you or another author.

  • Poems must be credited to the author.

  • Poems of all kinds are welcome. You may submit up to 3 poems.

    • If submitting more than one poem, send each as a separate attachment and indicate first choice down.

  • Poems must be appropriate for the general public.*

  • Poems can be in another language but must also be translated into English so we can check for appropriateness for the public. If you prefer it be posted without a translation let us know.

  • Submission files/attachments must be labeled with poem title, choice order (if more than one), author and person who submitted. Important to do this so the submission doesn’t get lost.

  • Recite your poem or explain why you wrote or chose a particular poem and send the digital sound file to us as a voice memo or MP3. It may be chosen to be listened to via a QR code as part of the tour.

Poem documents will be formatted if needed, laminated and hung around parts of the Calistoga ‘loop’, Logvy and Pioneer Parks and downtown Calistoga. You can forward this information and invite others to send in poems.

Poetry Walk Public Viewing Dates are Saturday April 4th - Sunday April 26th 2026

Poems will be hanging in: Pioneer Park, Fireman’s Memorial Park, along the fence at Logvy Park and along the pathway at Avila Park which extends from the juncture of Cedar Street and Willow Streets plus more locations to come.

A crude location map will be available.

New this year-some poems have QR codes. Point your smart phone camera at it and it will lead to a voice recording of the author reading their poem!

Search for poems of all kinds, submitted from all kinds and penned from all kinds.  Find a new favorite or discover a new interest in the power of words. 

We all know that getting outside is good for us, moving outside is even better, reading and thinking in fresh air is downright invigorating.
