Nature printed tapas dishes

Instructor: Miriam Owen

Friday September 20th, 5:00pm -7:00pm

Create a set of unique tapas dishes imprinted with collected nature.

Miriam will instruct you how to make either a few small plates, 5-7 inches in diameter or a larger plate from slabs of clay and imprint with nature to decorate. Bring flowers such as fuschias, leaves with strong veins, grasses or texture objects to imprint the clay. After being bisque fired, you have the option of glazing or we can do it for you.

CAC will fire again and let you know when your pieces are ready for pickup. Please allow up to 2 weeks for the firing process to be completed.

Suitable for all levels of experience. Ages 12+

Mini Clay pumpkins/ gourds

Instructor: Natalie Carpello

Saturday, September 21st, 3:00pm - 5:00pm

For this Harvest season come learn how to make adorable mini pumpkins and gourds. Artist and ceramicist, Natalie Carpello will show you how to sculpt with clay and use underglazes to decorate your creation. CAC will fire them asap and let you know when they are ready to be picked up.

These keepsakes can adorn your home, yard or be the perfect holiday gift for years to come.

Weave a MINI tapestry

Instructor: Rose LeClerc

Have you thought about learning to weave? This workshop is a great place to begin!

In this 3 hour class, taught by artist and weaver Rose LeClerc, you will learn to weave a mini tapestry (approximately 2” x 6”) on a small tapestry loom. Your woven piece can be hung on a wall to brighten a corner or from your rearview mirror or used as an unique bookmark or fashioned into a statement necklace! However you choose to use it, your handmade mini tapestry would make a lovely gift as well.

Workshop fee* $30, plus $7 materials fee, (The materials fee covers the cost of the yarn and thread)


NICHOS / MINI SHADOW/altar BOXES

Instructor: Anna Johansson

Sunday October 13th, 2:30pm-5:00pm

Create your own nicho inspired by the Central and South American folk tradition of using household materials to create 3-D portable mini alters. Consider it a sacred space to hold and honor a thought, a dream, a memory.

All basic supplies are included. You are welcome and encouraged to bring personal photos, images, mementos or charms to use.
